What we believe

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God - 2 Timothy 3:16
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. - John 17:11, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Mark 16
  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. - Acts 4:12
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. - Col 1:27
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. - Romans 6:6, Acts 24:15
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. - Acts 1:14

We believe Christ’s resurrection holds the power to restore every aspect of creation, including elements deep within the human soul. As soul restoration takes place because of the gospel of Christ, all other essentials of our city, state, nation, and world will alter. Families will be healed, economics will shift, individuals will find center, and art will once again proclaim gratitude to our savior, Jesus Christ. This will happen through gospel presence, proclamation, and saturation church planting.

Core Values/

Discipleship Outcomes

Our Core Values describe the kinds of people we are to BE in response to God's grace in salvation, while our Discipleship Outcomes describe the things we DO in light of our Values. These are linked because we believe that our actions naturally follow what we value.

CORE VALUES
  • WISDOM: Wisdom found in God's Word and through prayer.
  • WORSHIP: Being generous with all of our lives to God in service to Him.
  • RELATIONSHIP: Relationships will be Christ-like through selflessness, sacrifice, and forgiveness.
  • EMPOWERMENT: Sharing God's grace story with others, and serving them through spiritual gifts.

DISCIPLESHIP OUTCOMES

  • COMMUNING WITH GOD through Bible reading and prayer.
  • LIVING BY THE SPIRIT as seen in Romans 6:12-14, 8:1-11, and Galatians 5:22-23.
  • SHARING GOD'S GRACE as compelled in 2 Corinthians 5:17-21.
  • SERVING WITH SPIRITUAL GIFTS as listed in Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Ephesians 4:11-16.
  • STEWARDING LIFE GENEROUSLY for God's glory as inspired in Romans 12:1-2.

Baptism

Baptism is a Christian's way of “going public” with their faith in Jesus Christ. It’s the next step after you trust Christ as Lord and Savior. –A beautiful picture for a beautiful sacrifice. [LISTEN TO A SERMON ON BAPTISM HERE]

Why Be Baptized?

  • To Follow the Example Set by Jesus: "At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan." (Mark 1:9)
  • Jesus Himself Commanded It: "Then Jesus said to them, 'Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.'" (Matthew 28:19-20)
  • To Publicly Demonstrate That A Person Is A Believer: "And many … who heard him believed and were baptized." (Acts 18:8)
  • To Openly Demonstrate Obedience to Jesus Christ: "Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord’ and do not do what I say?" (Luke 6:46)

Baptism is an act of obedience. While it is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates submission to God. We immerse at Restoration because we believe Scripture shows that Jesus modeled that for us as the way to publicly acknowledge our faith in Him.

Periodically, we hold a Credo class immediately following our Sunday gathering. This time is used to discuss the core beliefs that we hold at Restoration Church, including our views of baptism. If you are looking into taking the next step into the water of believers' baptism, Credo class is where you want to be. For information email info@restorationbuffalo.com.
