Why Be Baptized?
Baptism is an act of obedience. While it is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates submission to God. We immerse at Restoration because we believe Scripture shows that Jesus modeled that for us as the way to publicly acknowledge our faith in Him.
- To Follow the Example Set by Jesus
“At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.” (Mark 1:9)
- Jesus Himself Commanded It
“Then Jesus said to them, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.'” (Matthew 28:19-20)
- To Publicly Demonstrate That A Person Is A Believer
“And many … who heard him believed and were baptized.” (Acts 18:8)
- To Openly Demonstrate Obedience to Jesus Christ
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46)
If you are looking into taking the next step into the water of believers’ baptism, Credo class is where you want to be. This time is used to discuss the core beliefs that we hold at Restoration Church, including our views of baptism. We periodically hold a Credo class immediately following our Sunday gathering. View the calendar for upcoming Credo classes. For information email firstname.lastname@example.org.
