Beliefs

Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God – 2 Timothy 3:16
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. – John 17:11, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Mark 16
  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. – Acts 4:12
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. – Col 1:27
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. – Romans 6:6, Acts 24:15
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. – Acts 1:14
  • We believe Christ’s resurrection holds the power to restore every aspect of creation, including elements deep within the human soul. As soul restoration takes place because of the gospel of Christ, all other essentials of our city, state, nation, and world will alter. Families will be healed, economics will shift, individuals will find center, and art will once again proclaim gratitude to our savior, Jesus Christ. This will happen through gospel presence, proclamation, and saturation church planting.

What are our Core Values?

Our Core Values describe the kinds of people we are to BE in response to God’s grace in salvation, while our Discipleship Outcomes describe the things we DO in light of our Values. These are linked because we believe that our actions naturally follow what we value.

Baptism

Baptism is an act of obedience. While it is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates submission to God. We immerse at Restoration because we believe Scripture shows that Jesus modeled that for us as the way to publicly acknowledge our faith in Him.

  • To Follow the Example Set by Jesus
“At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.” (Mark 1:9)
  • Jesus Himself Commanded It
“Then Jesus said to them, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.'” (Matthew 28:19-20)
  • To Publicly Demonstrate That A Person Is A Believer
“And many … who heard him believed and were baptized.” (Acts 18:8)
  • To Openly Demonstrate Obedience to Jesus Christ
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46)

Why Become a Member?

In a world of radical individualism,
the church of Jesus Christ stands as a compelling contrast.

Scripture declares that Jesus Christ was risen from the dead to form a new community. Moreover, Jesus said that all the world would recognize those who are his by the way they love one another. Church membership is a commitment first to Christ and second to love his people in the local church. Restoration holds church membership in high regard.

How do I become a member?

  1. The first step of membership is declaring faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe that public baptism is the method ordained by scripture whereby disciples of Jesus publicly proclaim their faith.
  2. Second, attend a Credo class.
Credo is where those who are new to faith or new to Restoration Church learn what is expected as a member.
  3. Third, set up an interview with the elders.
Relationship is vital to membership; therefore, potential new members are invited to meet with our elders to answer any further questions. This is a casual time where members and church leaders can learn how to integrate into the Restoration community.
  4. Fourth, attend a quarterly new member meeting.
Member meetings are where new members are introduced and officially welcomed to the community of Restoration. Quarterly member meetings include prayer, vision casting, and a time for Q&A.
